Howard Berkowitz
Born April 2, 1956 in a small log hospital that I built myself.
Attended school in a little suburban village in New Jersey, where at the age of 11 I discovered a compulsion for acting, appearing in my first school play, a drama about the solar system. I followed this just a scant 7 years later with a role as the shifty-eyed Italian steward in the high-school production of Luxury Cruise. Following this, I left the country.
Upon my return I resumed my involvement with theater, as well as an abortive career in the food service industry, running an ice cream truck during the heady days of cheap gas and cheap sno-cones. Following this, I joined the Navy, with whose help I left the country once more.
I returned again, entered college, exited college, entered theater, matrimony, and musical pursuits. Still involved in these, as well as improv performances.
Now living quietly with my wife and performing partner of the last twenty years, Rose, and our cat Merlin. I’m awaiting my next big break, or my chance to leave the country.
Phil Hochman
Phil Hochman is one of the original members of the the group, and the oldest, is semi--retired from his position in sales, and has a degree - a BS in BS. He has been performing since the middle 60's in community theater, off-off broadway, films, and commercials.
Phil enjoys making people laugh,no matter what, and is a maven on almost anything, just ask him. He resides in Plainfield, NJ with his third and last wife, Karen, and their cat Cagney.
Michele Kerekes
Born to the luckiest parents on earth 12/21/1962 I continue to bring constant joy and laughter to those who surround me. Married and blessed with 2 boys (who also think I'm hysterical) I am in the flooring industry and use my humour to make sales. Trust me, it helps.
I have been with the Improvables now for 2 years and must say it's the best decision they ever made!
David Kritz
Dave spends much of his time with his software business, occasionally taking time out to work on a web site for an improv troupe. He enjoys skiing, backpacking, traveling, photography, and breathing.
Dave's acting career ended abruptly when he graduated from high school in 1985, but was fortunate enough to be able to join The Improvables in 2004. He has been a regular performer with the troupe ever since.
Randi Schweriner
Randi Schweriner, the longest running member of the Improvables as we currently know it, started acting formally at Cedarbrook Middle School with a fabulous rendition of an ugly step sister in “The Final Dress Rehearsal.” Years passed. She studied at McCarter Theatre in Princeton. More years passed. Here we are. She attributes the sparkling, comedic personality she brings to the Improvables to countless bad dates.
In addition to improv, she enjoys Australia, Baking, Crosswords, Dancing, Eagles - Football, Google, Humor, Ice cream, Jocularity, Kids (mine), Lox, M*A*S*H, Nougat, Otters, Politics, Quiet, Reading, Sushi, Traveling, Understatedness, Variety, the Who, Xeroxing, Yoga, and Zumba – (it’s real, Google it).
